As a product designer at GamePoint, I had a wide range of UI tasks to meet the needs of stakeholders. I had the opportunity to contribute the creation of new features, taking them from initial ideas all the way through to production. One of my key responsibilities was maintaining the UI within game projects, which involved working with both Flash and Unity platforms.




Design Process and Development Workflow
Working in small teams varying from 2-3 developers and (technical) artist to just myself, the goal is to move quickly with the design and development of new features for the company. To do this, we have the Discovery Phase; an idea with short description that either are came up by team members or the stakeholder as an assignment. Once this has been green lit, the feature can move to Ideation. This phase is what I have been working on the most within the company; core idea needs to be refined, showing stakeholder which KPI the feature will improve and how. Lo-fi (sometimes Hi-fi for stakeholder pitches) prototypes to show developers and managers how the feature will work to give them a better overview of the scope of project.

Pre Production
After Concept phase and the project is moved to Production phase, I start working on the interface design and usually provide a prototype or Hi-fi prototype to address the interaction details. This prototype is usually made in Figma or Unity. Within both platforms I have prepared company interface components (design system) that can mostly be reused for new projects. Prototypes or mockups are then presented to stakeholder and cross department to make sure all details are aligned cross company. Figma - Can be adjusted quickly by designers and managers. Flow and prototype can be shared cross team through Jira tickets and Confluence pages. Unity - Takes more time and need developers to work on this. Advantage is that this will shorten the production time a lot, since most pre-work has been researched. All involved have a clearer scope of the project.
